Court of Appeal Urges Amicable Settlement of PDP Factions’ Dispute

The Court of Appeal in Ibadan, on Friday, advised the two Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) factions to amicably resolve their differences in the interest of the party.

Reports said that Abdulrahman Mohammed-led faction had, on Nov. 25, 2025, gotten judgment from the Federal High Court, Ibadan invalidating the outcome of the party’s convention held on Nov. 15 and Nov. 16, 2025 in Ibadan.

However, Justice Ladiran Akintola of the Oyo State High Court, in a judgment delivered on Feb. 25 in another suit filed by Tanimu Turaki faction, held that the Ibadan PDP convention fulfilled the requirements of the PDP’s constitution and the Electoral Act and was, therefore, validly held.

ADC Group Decries Sunday’s Attack on Party Chieftains in Edo

An interest group within African Democratic Congress (ADC), ADC Grassroots Mobilisation for Change (AGMC), has decried Sunday’s attack on some party chieftains during a meeting in Edo.
The group, in a statement issued by Director of Communications, Mr Andrew Iguebor, on Tuesday in Abuja, said that the attack occurred at the residence of the party’s National Legal Officer, Prof. Oserheimen Osunbor, in Iruekpen.

INEC: We May Not Achieve a Perfect Election in 2027 — Amupitan

The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Joash Ojo Amupitan, has said the commission cannot guarantee a 100 per cent perfect election in 2027, particularly with regard to electronic transmission of results.
Amupitan made the disclosure on Sunday during a Citizens’ Townhall Meeting organised by the Civil Society Network on Election Integrity at the Abuja Continental Hotel.
