Presidency Dismisses Alleged Plot to Poison Tinubu as Fake

The Presidency has dismissed as false a viral social media claim alleging that a kitchen staff member at the State House attempted to poison President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Presidential spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, described the report as fake in a post on his verified X (formerly Twitter) handle, insisting that no such incident occurred at the Presidential Villa.

“There was no arrest of any kitchen staff at Aso Rock, and no attempt was made to poison President Tinubu,” Onanuga stated, urging the public to disregard the circulating video.

Earlier, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Tope Ajayi, had also dismissed the allegation when contacted, describing it simply as “fake.”

The denial followed widespread circulation of an online video claiming that an unnamed chef attached to the State House in Abuja had been arrested over an alleged poisoning plot.

The Presidency said the report lacked credible sources and verifiable details, and stressed that no security agency had reported any arrest, investigation, or breach related to the claim as of press time.
