President Bola Tinubu on Friday approved the posting of 65 ambassadors-designate to Nigeria’s foreign missions and the United Nations.
The envoys comprise 31 non-career and 34 career ambassadors whose nominations were confirmed by the Senate in December, 2025.
This is contained in a statement issued by the President’s spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, in Abuja.
An 18-year-old, Samad Olalere, and six others were on Friday docked at an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court Ibadan over alleged impersonation on social media.
They are: Daud Ademola, 26, George Thomas, 24, Kim Aruna, 23, Martins Sunday, 26, Mubarak Alade, 21 and Thomas Williams, 21.
They were charged with impersonation, to which they pleaded not guilty.
Residents of Katsina metropolis have expressed deep frustration over the persistent poor electricity supply by the Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO), especially during the Holy Month of Ramadan.
The residents, who expressed their minds in separate interviews with the Newsmen on Friday in Katsina, accused KEDCO of failure to discharge its responsibility diligently.

However, Justice Ladiran Akintola of the Oyo State High Court, in a judgment delivered on Feb. 25 in another suit filed by Tanimu Turaki faction, held that the Ibadan PDP convention fulfilled the requirements of the PDP’s constitution and the Electoral Act and was, therefore, validly held.

The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Parliament has commenced celebrations for its 25 years of service by inaugurating a commemorative programme across seven members-states.
The speaker of the ECOWAS parliament, Hadja Ibrahima, made the announcement during a news conference in Abuja on Thursday.

Gov. Uba Sani of Kaduna State and House Speaker Tajudeen Abbas have tasked the APC’s new executives to secure two million votes for President Bola Tinubu in 2027.
They gave the charge on Tuesday at the party’s State Congress in Kaduna, where Isaac Atiku Sankay emerged as consensus chairman.
Sankay, born in 1983, is Special Adviser on Peace and Conflict Resolution to the governor.
The UK government has placed an emergency brake on visas for nationals from four countries, as Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood accused them of exploiting Britain’s generosity to claim asylum.
Study visas for nationals from Afghanistan, Cameroon, Myanmar, and Sudan have been halted, as have work visas for Afghans.
The government has halted the visa routes as it claims a growing number of people from these countries are using legal migration routes as a backdoor to claim asylum in the UK.
