Abuja–Kaduna Road Reconstruction Set for Completion-FG

The Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to completing the reconstruction of the Abuja–Kaduna Road.
Mr Mohammed Ahmed, Director, Information and Public Relations, Ministry of Works, disclosed this on Tuesday during a tour of the project sites.

Ahmed said that the road links the North Central and other Northern regions to the Federal Capital Territory and provides a vital connection between Lagos and other parts of Nigeria.

Man Kills Older Brother for ”Shooting Him” in a Dream – Police

A 43-year-old man is in police net after he allegedly killed his older brother, Mustapha Amidu for ”shooting him” in a dream.
This is contained in a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka,  on Wednesday in Ibadan.
”The tragic incident was reported at the Ago-Amodu Divisional Police Headquarters, by one Badmus Yunisa of Alegunlode Compound, Sepeteri area of Oyo State.

UniCal Suspends 9 students Over Exam Malpractice, Forgery

The University of Calabar (UniCal) has suspended nine students over alleged examination malpractice and forgery of result.

Reports said that the suspension is contained in a statement by the institution’s registrar, Dr Chukwuka Icha.

Icha said that the decision to suspend the students was reached at the 252nd Senate meeting following reports presented by the Ad-Hoc senate committee on examination malpractice and the senate students’ disciplinary committee.

According to him, while five students were suspended for examination malpractice, the other four were found to have submitted forged results to the university.

”After reviewing the reports and recommendations of the committees, the management resolved that the affected students should be suspended for two academic sessions and the suspension will take effect from the 2024/2025 academic year.”
